We released both baby squirrels on Thanksgiving Day of 2006.  We never saw the female again. The male
found his way back to our house and continues to come back for treats. I'll add some recent pictures of
him below the story.

Sadly, Quirbilly drowned in a water trough that had not been recently topped
off.  We were sure the dogs would one day catch him, but he outsmarted them
to the end. We have tied ropes to the fences now to hang in the troughs in
case another squirrel ever finds themselves in such a situation.
I will miss him terribly........
